Tile Care, Maintenance & Tile Cleaning Tips

With the right knowledge and equipment, you can ensure your tiles will last longer and look just as amazing as they did when you purchased them!

When it comes to cleaning your tiles, always make sure you have the right products for the job. A clean cloth and microfibre duster are definitely what you want for buffing and bringing out that flawless shine. Tile polishes are available on the market, but simply mixing white wine vinegar and water makes an equally effective solution! Please note, if your kitchen tiles are particularly greasy then it is highly recommended that you use a proper degreasing agent beforehand, otherwise you will just wipe the grease around and get nowhere.

When removing dirt and debris from your ceramic and porcelain tiles, we suggest using a PH neutral cleaning agent – products that are too high in acid or alkali can damage the sealant, making your tiles vulnerable to scratches and stains. Aggressive cleaners can also damage and discolour your grout, so be sure to check the bottle and read the manufacturer’s instructions before applying.

Over time your tiles will need to be resealed in order to maintain their quality and appearance. Without proper sealing, your tiles won’t be able to withstand wear and tear and eventually lose their natural luster and shine. There are different sealers available on our website or in-store, each with its own properties to give the required finish. Remember PPE including goggles, gloves and a face mask will protect your eyes and skin from dust and chemicals when maintaining your tiles.
