Moroccan style

Moroccan style, architecture and  interior design express’s the country’s diverse history through detail, texture and geometry. Influenced by multiple cultures and religions, this style can feel at home in traditional or modern homes. Rich, luxurious and exotic, the style has bold colours and shapes that make it a favourite of many interior designers.

If you want to transform your interior and decor by adding a touch of Moroccan design, installing tiles has to be one of the easiest and most creative ways of doing just that. And thanks to modern production techniques, they are available in a whole multitude of colours and geometric patterns.

Many of them help to create a loud, rhythmic pattern across a large surface area. This can be striking – but also overwhelming. To prevent them dominating a room, think about using them only as a splashback or to zone a floor area. Usually in the kitchen on walls and floors, they are an amazing way of adding visual art to the home décor.

In order to make a beautifully done Moroccan interior design, there are some elements you cannot exclude; patterned accent pillows, Moroccan lanterns and rugs are just some of the must-haves.

When installing Moroccan-inspired tiles in the kitchen, the key is to keep the rest of your scheme low key. For example; keep the colour of the walls and cabinetry neutral, such a grey or white – this will allow the tiles to take centre stage.

In the bathroom, a Moroccan style is an easy go to design as it looks so good. Get the look by tiling you bathroom with some Moroccan-inspired tiles. Pair this with a nice, big rain shower. A top tip for you – copper or brass fittings will suit the look perfectly. Finally, add an elaborate mirror and you’re done.
